Spicy Malaysian Prawn Sambal

  • 500g prawns, peeled and deveined

  3. Add the prawns and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes or until they start to turn pink.
  4. Add the sambal paste and tamarind paste and continue to stir-fry for another minute.
  5. Season with salt to taste and stir well to combine all the ingredients.
  6. Turn off the heat and transfer to a serving dish. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.

Tips:

  • If you want a milder sambal, use less chillies or remove the seeds and membranes before chopping.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, add a little cornstarch dissolved in water to the sambal mixture.
  • For a vegetarian option, replace the prawns with tofu or vegetables of your choice.
