Delicious Dum Aloo Recipe

  1. Boil the potatoes in a large pot of water until they are soft and tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large pan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and let them sizzle for 30 seconds.
  3. Add the chopped onions to the pan and cook until they are golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Add the ginger paste, garlic paste, green chilies, and chopped tomatoes to the pan and cook until the tomatoes are soft and mushy, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Add the coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt to the pan and stir to combine.
  6. Add the yogurt and heavy cream to the pan and stir to combine. Let the mixture simmer for 5-7 minutes or until the sauce has thickened and the flavors have combined.
  7. Add the boiled potatoes to the pan and gently toss to coat with the sauce.
  8. Sprinkle a little water over the potatoes and cover the pan with a tight-fitting lid. Let the Dum Aloo simmer for 10-12 minutes or until the sauce has thickened and the flavors have combined.
  9. Remove the pan from heat and serve hot with roti, naan, or rice.
