Grilled Portobello Mushrooms

Ingredients:

  • 4 large Portobello mushroom caps
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Clean the Portobello mushrooms by gently wiping them with a damp cloth. Do not wash them under water as they will absorb the liquid and become soggy.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, minced garlic, thyme, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  3. Brush the mixture onto both sides of each Portobello mushroom cap.
  4. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Place the Portobello mushroom caps gill side up on the grill and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until tender and slightly charred.
  5. Serve hot as a side dish or as a vegetarian main course with a side salad.
