Ingredients:

  • 500 grams boneless chicken, cut into cubes
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 3 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp coriander seeds
  • 2-3 cloves
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2-3 green cardamom pods
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • Coriander leaves, for garnishing

Instructions:

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, coriander seeds, cloves, cinnamon stick, and cardamom pods. Fry for a few seconds until fragrant.
  2. Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  3. Add the ginger paste and garlic paste, and fry for a minute.
  4. Add the chopped tomatoes, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes are soft and mushy.
  5. Let the mixture cool down and then blend it into a smooth paste.
  6. Heat some more oil in a pan and add the chicken cubes. Fry until the chicken is browned on all sides.
  7. Add the blended tomato-onion paste to the chicken and stir well.
  8. Add some water if the mixture is too thick and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  9. Add garam masala and cream, and stir well.
  10. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with naan, roti, or rice.
