Recipe for Aloo Palak:

Aloo Palak is a popular North Indian dish made with potatoes and spinach in a creamy and flavorful sauce. This vegetarian dish is packed with nutrition and flavor, and is often served with rice or Indian breads. Our easy Aloo Palak recipe is perfect for a quick and healthy weeknight dinner.

Ingredients:

  • 4 medium-sized potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 4 cups fresh spinach, washed and finely chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 green chilies, chopped
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Fresh coriander leaves, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Let them splutter for a few seconds.
  2. Add chopped onions and green chilies and sauté until onions turn translucent.
  3. Add ginger and garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  4. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn mushy.
  5. Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, and garam masala and cook for a minute.
  6. Add cubed potatoes, salt, and half a cup of water. Cover and cook for 10-15 minutes, or until potatoes are tender.
  7. Add chopped spinach and mix well. Cover and cook for another 5 minutes.
  8. Once the spinach is cooked, turn off the heat and let the curry cool down for a few minutes.
  9. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice, naan or any other Indian bread.
