Exquisite Macaron Flavors

Macarons are delicate, bite-sized treats that are loved by people all over the world. They are made with almond flour, sugar, and egg whites, and can be filled with a variety of flavors and fillings. From classic chocolate and vanilla, to more adventurous flavors like rose and Earl grey, there's a macaron flavor for everyone. Here are three of our favorite macaron recipes that are sure to impress.

Chocolate Macarons

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 large egg whites
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Semi-sweet chocolate ganache for filling

Instructions:

  1. In a food processor, pulse the almond flour and powdered sugar together until fine and well combined.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gradually add the granulated sugar, beating until the mixture is glossy and holds stiff peaks.
  3. Sift the almond flour mixture into the egg white mixture, and fold the ingredients together until a thick batter forms.
  4. Add the cocoa powder and vanilla extract, and fold until fully incorporated.
  5. Spoon the batter into a piping bag fitted with a round tip, and pipe 1 1/2 inch rounds onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Let the macarons sit at room temperature for 30 minutes to an hour, or until a skin forms on the surface.
  7. Preheat the oven to 300°F, and bake the macarons for 12-15 minutes, or until the feet are set and the tops are firm to the touch.
  8. Let the macarons cool completely, and then sandwich with the chocolate ganache filling.
