Exquisite Macaron Flavors
Macarons are delicate, bite-sized treats that are loved by people all over the world. They are made with almond flour, sugar, and egg whites, and can be filled with a variety of flavors and fillings. From classic chocolate and vanilla, to more adventurous flavors like rose and Earl grey, there's a macaron flavor for everyone. Here are three of our favorite macaron recipes that are sure to impress.
Chocolate Macarons
Ingredients:
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 large egg whites
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Semi-sweet chocolate ganache for filling
Instructions:
- In a food processor, pulse the almond flour and powdered sugar together until fine and well combined.
- In a large bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gradually add the granulated sugar, beating until the mixture is glossy and holds stiff peaks.
- Sift the almond flour mixture into the egg white mixture, and fold the ingredients together until a thick batter forms.
- Add the cocoa powder and vanilla extract, and fold until fully incorporated.
- Spoon the batter into a piping bag fitted with a round tip, and pipe 1 1/2 inch rounds onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Let the macarons sit at room temperature for 30 minutes to an hour, or until a skin forms on the surface.
- Preheat the oven to 300°F, and bake the macarons for 12-15 minutes, or until the feet are set and the tops are firm to the touch.
- Let the macarons cool completely, and then sandwich with the chocolate ganache filling.
