Ingredients

  • Cake Batter:
    • 2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 2 teaspoons baking powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • 2 large eggs
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1 cup milk
  • Berries:
    • 1 pint fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
    • 1 pint fresh blueberries
    • 1 pint fresh raspberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add in the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk and mixing until just combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top with a spatula.
  8. Scatter the sliced strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries on top of the batter.
  9. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Remove from the oven and let cool completely in the pan before serving.
